A plunge pool and an outdoor media wall at ground level, and a rooftop deck with a fire table, a covered bar and a view of the city.
The property
A modern home on a tight lot, with outdoor space on two levels: a narrow rear yard at grade and a rooftop deck reached by a spiral stair.
The design
At ground level, a long plunge pool runs toward a media wall framed by tall sconces, with lounge seating on either side and planting along the fence. Up top, a fire table and deep seating face the view, with an outdoor kitchen and bar under a louvered roof.
After dark
Lighting was planned as part of the design — the pool, the sconces, string lights over the yard and the fire on the roof deck make it a different place at night.
An independent builder
Built from our drawings by a builder the homeowners chose. We stayed available through construction for questions, changes and advice.
Quiet Geometry
Castle Rock · A small yard ordered by a grid — square pavers in turf, broad stone steps, and a cedar pergola over a fire trough at the end of the axis.
