Scope
Rear + side yard

A narrow new-build yard, start to finish: floating steps, a paver patio laid with turf joints, a strip of lawn and slatted screens for privacy.

The property

A new home on a tight lot, with a narrow side yard and a small rear yard between close neighbors.

The design

Broad floating steps come down from the back door to a light paver patio, its edges broken up by strips of turf. A lawn fills the rest of the yard, horizontal-slat fencing and screens give privacy and hide the equipment, and large-format pavers carry the walk along the side of the house.
