A wooded hillside lot in Larkspur: a shipping-container pool set into a deck, a lawn for the family, a fire-pit terrace and a stone waterfall on the slope.
The property
A home on a wooded mountain hillside, with a band of usable ground between the house and the slope behind it.
The design
A shipping-container pool sits at the edge of a composite deck, with a viewing window into the water. A turf lawn and a grid of large pavers give the family room to play, a fire-pit terrace tucks in below the deck, and a stone waterfall spills down the slope. Block retaining walls and stone steps hold the hillside back.
